Are you gaga for Gaga? If so, brace yourselves. Your queen Fame Monster, Lady Gaga herself, posted a photo today (July 12) which describes and lists the release dates for a whole host of new material.
The first single from ARTPOP will drop August 19; and then the full album and its associated app will be released on November 11, though you'll be able to pre-order both on August 1.
According to the album description, ARTPOP "musically mirrors Gaga's creative process as she passes through the mediums of each artist she collaborates with, scoring a blueprint of her journey. The result, a 'rage' of electronic passion and fury, defining each artistic process from beginning to end, ARTPOP could be anything. But for her, this is a celebration of obsession."
Meanwhile, the app is a "visual engineering system that combines music, art, fashion and technology with a new interactive worldwide community — 'the auras.' Altering the human experience with social media, we bring ARTculture into POP in a reverse Warholian expedition."
Okay, Haus of Gaga, you've lost us in that Warhol reference. But in reading the rest of the release, we get the gist: Users of the app will be able to share their own creative expressions as sort of a Gaga-led virtual universe of artistry.
Whoa, whoa, now we're the ones sounding pretentious! So before we fall too far down the rabbithole, we'll just say that we can't wait for whatever ARTPOP entails.Source: Lady Gaga on Facebook
