The explosion occurred at the West Fertilizer plant in the small Texas town of West just outside Waco.
The plant began to burn and then erupted in a huge fireball that broke windows miles away and registered as a 2.1 magnitude on the USGS earthquake scale.
Emergency workers are still combing through homes and businesses in the area that were either flattened or were left as skeletons from the force of the blast.
Police and medical personnel in the area won’t release the number of dead and injured yet because they say the numbers are changing constantly are feared to be rising quickly.
