Bullets. It's like the smorgasbord of blogging without all the cholesterol.
- If Mark Gottfried is still searching for frontcourt depth after the signing of Lennard Freeman, he won't find it in the form of one-time Pack commit Joseph Uchebo, who pledged to future ACC member Pittsburgh Monday after a stint at Chipola Junior College in Florida.
- Trevor Lacey, the Alabama transfer who was a Pack target as a prep, is rumored to be considering Raleigh as his transfer destination. The 6-2 guard is also considering UNC and Miami. Lacey led a 23-win Bama squad in three-point baskets (62) and assists per game (3.2) last season and has the reputation as an excellent defender. Among transfers this offseason, only Rodney Purvis was more highly regarded out of high school. After sitting a year, Lacey will have two years of eligibility remaining.
- The heavily-depleted Hurricanes recently landed Kansas State transfer Angel Rodriguez, a 5-11 guard who does not shoot spectacularly well from the floor but posted an impressive 37.3 assist percentage a season ago for a Wildcats unit that went 27-8. He jacked nearly five 3s a game, making 34.4% from behind the arc, and finished second on the squad in scoring at 11.4 points per game. Rodriguez followed in the footsteps of former Pack point guard Javi Gonzalez: both hail from Puerto Rico, and both played at Dr. Krop High School in Florida. Rodriguez, who will have two seasons of eligibility left after sitting a season, was also offered by N.C. State out of high school.
- Wake Forest added a graduate transfer in former Robert Morris three-point specialist Coron Williams. The 6-2 guard averaged nine points over his career for the Colonials, shooting 42.3% from the bonusphere. Nearly two thirds of his field goal attempts were three pointers. Williams led the NEC with sub-10% turnover percentages in two of his three years as a starter. He'll replace three-jacker Chase Fischer, who is leaving Wake Forest to become a reclusive former chess master in the wilds of Iceland, like his famous great uncle, Bobby. (I may have made some of that up.)
