Mr. President, Russ. Russ, Mr. President.
The national champion Louisville Cardinals will be honored at the White House next Tuesday, July 23. The team will meet President Barack Obama at 2:05 p.m. at the Rose Garden of the White House.
"It is truly one of the unique experiences in a young man's life to go to the White House and meet the President of the United States," said Rick Pitino. "It's not only a great honor, but our team will always remember that they got a chance to visit the White House, understand the logistics of how everything works and then meeting the President. It's something they will always cherish and someday tell their children."
Following the White House visit, the team will tour the Capitol and visit with U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and others before returning to Louisville.
The visit will cap off a busy week for a handful of Louisville players, who are currently in Los Angeles for ESPN's ESPY Awards, which will air tonight at 9 p.m.
