As one must do periodically, I am taking the time this week to revisit the primary reasons that I hate the Florida Gators. Yesterday, I began the series by examining the fact that nobody likes gators, not even gators themselves. We also gotten some great input from members of the Dawg Sports community, including Cherokee's Grip, Dawg Haus, The984, and jkmaxwell. Though our official policy of unrelenting Munsonian pessimism requires me to not officially condone jkmaxwell's excellent work examining the great wins of the Mark Richt era, I will, shall we say, unofficially tip my hat in his direction. :-) As for everyone else, keep the hate flowin', y'all! I know I will...
Really, this point should be self-explanatory. Red is a classy color; a power color. When paired with black, it becomes even more beautiful and more fashionable:
Orange, however, is loud. It is an affront to the senses. It is everything that red is not when it comes to class and style. When orange is combined with blue, the ultimate insult to one's visual acuity is completed.
What is the primary color of a holiday devoted to warding off misanthropic ghouls and villians by bribing them with candy? Orange. What is the color associated with the BCS Bowl that perennialy hosts the worst teams? Orange.
Do the world a favor; reject everything that is orange, as I do. And start this week by rejecting the Florida Gators.
