ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- More than a dozen dogs are in an animal shelter Thursday after Orange County firefighters found them inside an apartment that was on fire.

Thirteen dogs, including 10 pit bull puppies, were found in a unit at the Tymber Skan Apartments on Barkwater Drive (see map) Wednesday night.

The fire started on the outside of the building and spread up the side wall and into the attic. No one was home when the fire started.

Animal Control took the dogs.
