This rapidly growing county suffered a great deal of beach damage from both the hurricanes of 1999, 2004 and 2005. Highway A-1-A took an especially hard toll after the 2004 hurricanes, so make sure you know your evacuation routes that take you west of at least the I-95 corridor.
