Seminole County
Hurricane Frances dumped heavy rainfall into the St. Johns River basin and brought flood waters to many homes along it's banks. The St. Johns flows north toward Jacksonville, but does so very slowly. In fact, the average slope of the river is only one-inch per mile, meaning the water flows downhill only very very gradually. This was one of the reasons residents saw such widespread flooding for many weeks back in 2004.WEATHER LINKS
