In the event of an evacuation for west coast residents, you'll be getting quite a few evacuees coming in along Highway 50. But due to you close proximity to the Gulf, you'll have to monitor storms very carefully, as well. Though you missed the bulk of Hurricane Charley in 2004, Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne brought slight to moderate damage to the area.
