Investigators Think Woman Shot, House Burned Was Not Intended Target

Posted: 7:31 am EST February 11, 2008

Investigators think two men got the wrong address when they firebombed a home in west Florida.

Deputies said the men threw two Molotov cocktails into Nanise Raymond's house in Palmetto, early Saturday morning. When she tried to put out the fire, the men shot her several times.

The fire destroyed her home. Investigators believe the group was trying to retaliate against Raymond's next door neighbor, but hit her house instead.

"That's when the boys, when they were running off, you could hear them. They were like 'oh snap, we got the wrong house,'" said Mischa Raymond, the victim's sister.

Raymond is hospitalized in stable condition.
