Caught On Tape: Car Smashes Into Store, Customer

An Indiana woman is listed in stable condition after being hit by a pickup that crashed into a liquor store. Video from a surveillance camera at Bill's Liquor Store in South Bend shows the accident happening at 3:42 PM on Friday.

Customer Nancy Smith was standing at the front door when the pickup hit her. Police say the 60-year-old Smith was taken to a local hospital and did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.

The driver, identified at 58-year-old Martha Day of Mishawaka, was not hurt in the crash.

Police say Day was pulling into the store's parking lot and apparently hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. They issued her a citation and said alcohol was not a factor.

The owner of Bill's Liquors said he didn't know how much damage was caused by the crash, but just replacing the front doors will cost about $800.
