Parra Perfect For Triple-A Nashville

POSTED: 1:02 am EDT June 26, 2007

(Sports Network) - Milwaukee Brewers farmhand Manny Parra threw a perfect game for Triple-A Nashville in a 3-0 victory over Round Rock Monday.

The 24-year-old left-hander, a 26th-round selection of the Brewers in 2001, struck out a career-high 11 batters and was mobbed by teammates after first baseman Brad Nelson recorded the final out on a pop-up by Jesse Garcia.

Parra recorded the third nine-inning perfect game in the 104-year history of the Pacific Coast League. It was also the second perfect game for Nashville, as John Wasdin accomplished the feat on April 7, 2003.

Incredibly, it was also Parra's (1-1) first win at the Triple-A level. He threw 77 of his 107 pitches for strikes.
