Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Fausto Carmona threw a five-hit shutout, and Asdrubal Cabrera hit a two-run homer, as the Cleveland Indians topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-0, in the first game of a doubleheader. The twin bill was scheduled after Sunday's game was postponed due to rain. Carmona (4-1) struck out three and walked four in his first shutout since blanking the Twins on May 17, 2007. David Dellucci went 2-for-4 with an RBI single for the Indians, who have won five of six. Grady Sizemore added a double and scored a run. Matt Stairs went 3-for-4 for the Blue Jays, losers of four straight. A.J. Burnett (3-4) took the loss despite holding Cleveland to three runs on five hits over 7 2/3 innings, racking up seven strikeouts.

Final Score: Toronto 3, Cleveland 0 (10 innings, Game Two)

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Shaun Marcum, B.J. Ryan and Scott Downs combined on a 10-inning, three-hit shutout as the Toronto Blue Jays salvaged a split of their doubleheader with a 3-0 win over the Cleveland Indians. The Indians won the first game of the twin bill, 3-0, behind Fausto Carmona's five-hit shutout. Ryan (1-0) earned the win with a scoreless ninth for the Blue Jays, who ended a four-game skid. Marcum struck out five and allowed just two hits over eight innings, while Downs notched his fourth save. Shannon Stewart drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly, and Aaron Hill went 2-for-3 with a two-run single. Cliff Lee allowed seven hits over nine shutout innings for Cleveland, which had a three-game win streak snapped. Rafael Betancourt (1-3) took the loss after allowing all three Toronto runs in the 10th. All three Indians hits were doubles, recorded by Victor Martinez, Travis Hafner and Franklin Gutierrez. Asdrubal Cabrera turned an unassisted triple play for Cleveland in the fifth.

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Delmon Young finished 2-for-4 with two RBI as Minnesota overcame an early three-run deficit to top Boston, 7-3, in the finale of a four-game set from the Metrodome. Craig Monroe also drove in two runs for the Twins, who took three of four over the weekend series and have won four of six overall. Justin Morneau and Michael Cuddyer added an RBI each. Livan Hernandez (6-1) cruised to the win despite early trouble, allowing 10 hits and three runs over six full frames. Manny Ramirez launched his 498th career home run, a two-run blast, for the Red Sox, who have dropped four of six since a five-game win streak. Starter Clay Buchholz (2-3) took the loss for Boston.He was charged with eight hits and seven runs in just 4 1/3 innings, fanning four, but issuing five walks.

St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - Matt Garza threw seven shutout innings and the Rays extended their franchise-record home winning streak to 10 games with a 7-1 victory over the New York Yankees. Jonny Gomes had two hits with an RBI and scored three times for Tampa Bay, which has won five in a row overall and now sits a half-game behind Boston for first place in the AL East, this after the Red Sox lost, 7-3, at Minnesota on Monday. The Rays (22-16), six games over .500 for the first time in franchise history, also got three hits and two RBI from Dioner Navarro to take the opener of this four- game series. Jason Bartlett added a two-run triple for Tampa Bay, which won for the 14th time in its last 19 contests. Garza (2-1) allowed five hits, walked one and fanned three, being removed after throwing 108 pitches in his longest outing of the season. Gary Glover, who had been on the disabled list since April 26 with right shoulder tendinitis, was activated before the game and threw the eighth inning. Trever Miller pitched a perfect ninth. Andy Pettitte (3-4) was pounded for eight hits and five runs over four innings to suffer a rare loss against the Rays. The lefty fell to 14-4 lifetime versus Tampa Bay, having had his seven-game Tropicana Field winning streak broken. It was his first road loss versus the Rays since September 16, 1998. Alberto Gonzalez had two of the six hits for the Yankees, losers in four of their last six games.

Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Ramon Vazquez's solo home run in the 10th inning lifted the Texas Rangers to a 13-12 win over the Seattle Mariners in the opener of a three-game set. The Rangers blew a four-run lead in the ninth, but came back to post their sixth win in seven contests. With one out in the 10th, Vazquez jumped on Brandon Morrow's 1-0 fastball for his second home run of the season, a shot to right field. Vicente Padilla, who had allowed just one earned run over his last three starts, gave up six runs -- three earned -- on seven hits in five-plus innings for Texas. C.J. Wilson allowed four runs on four hits in the ninth. Doug Mathis (1-0), brought up from Triple-A Oklahoma to replace starter Kevin Millwood who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday, tossed a scoreless inning to pick up the win in his major league debut. Josh Hamilton went 2-for-4 with four RBI for the Rangers, and Ian Kinsler was 3-for-5 and scored twice. Michael Young knocked in a pair runs. Gerald Laird and Chris Shelton each had two hits, with Laird scoring three times. Erik Bedard, who returned to Arlington for the first time since his two-hit, 15-strikeout performance on July 7, 2007 as a member of the Baltimore Orioles, was rocked for six runs on seven hits with four walks in two-plus innings. Morrow (0-1) threw the final 1 1/3 innings. Kenji Johjima's three-run homer in the ninth forced extra innings for the Mariners, who have dropped 11 of their last 13 games. Raul Ibanez and Wladimir Balentien also homered, while Jose Lopez finished 3- for-5 and scored two runs. It was the first game between the teams since a benches-clearing fracas on Thursday in Seattle. Mariners first baseman Richie Sexson served the third game of his five-game suspension Monday stemming from the incident in which he pegged Texas pitcher Kason Gabbard with his helmet. Seattle's Felix Hernandez and Gabbard, participants in the game last Thursday, are scheduled to start on Tuesday.

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Vladimir Guerrero homered and drove in four runs, as the Angels downed the Chicago White Sox, 10-7, in the opener of a four-game series. Nick Adenhart (1-0), making his third career start, gave up nine hits and four runs in 5 2/3 innings to earn his first major league win. Following the game, the club sent Adenhart back to Triple-A Salt Lake. Garret Anderson was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for the Angels, who snapped a season-high four-game losing streak. Gary Matthews Jr. and Erick Aybar both had two hits and drove in a run. Mark Buehrle (1-5) took the loss after yielding eight runs -- six earned -- on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings for Chicago, which has dropped two straight. Jermaine Dye finished 4-for-5 and scored two runs in his 1,500th career game, while Joe Crede went 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBI. Juan Uribe drove in two runs. A.J. Pierzynski doubled twice, scored twice and knocked in a run.
