A's Reinstate SS Crosby

Saturday, July 19, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics reinstated shortstop Bobby Crosby from the 15-day disabled list Friday. He was out of the lineup since July 3 with a strained left hamstring.

The oft-injured Crosby missed 205 games due to injuries in the past four seasons and just completed a career-long 84 games played streak before landing on the disabled list for the sixth time in his six seasons.

The 28-year-old is batting .260 this season with four home runs and 38 runs batted in.

Oakland remained busy Friday, selecting pitcher Lenny DiNardo from Triple-A Sacramento a day after sending infielder Gregorio Petit to Sacramento.

DiNardo makes his third stint with the big league club, compiling a 1-1 record and a 10.24 earned run average in five games this season.

Petit is batting 8-for-23 in 12 games for Oakland this year and is batting .304 with no homers and 18 RBI in 49 games for Sacramento.
