Kansas City Royals (19-21) At Florida Marlins (23-17), 7:10 P.m.

(Sports Network) - The Kansas City Royals are on a roll and will put their season-high four-game winning streak on the line tonight, when they open a three-game interleague series against the Florida Marlins at Dolphin Stadium.

Kansas City is coming off its second three-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers this season, as it wrapped up the set with an 8-4 victory on Thursday at Kauffman Stadium. Jose Guillen led the way by going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI to lead the way.

Billy Butler had two RBI while Joey Gathright, Miguel Olivo and Mark Teahen each knocked in a run for the Royals, who completed a 10-game homestand with an even 5-5 record. Starter Gil Meche got the win after he went seven innings, yielding three runs on six hits with seven strikeouts.

The Royals will open a lengthy 11-game road trip on Friday against the Marlins, Red Sox and Blue Jays.

Struggling righty Brett Tomko will take the mound for Kansas City tonight in Miami, and is 1-4 with a 5.67 ERA in eight games (7 starts) this season.

Tomko is 0-4 with a 6.61 earned run average over his previous six starts. He was reached for six runs and nine hits in 5 1/3 frames of Saturday's 6-5 setback to Baltimore at Kauffman Stadium. His last win was on April 6 at Minnesota, where he tossed five shutout innings of six-hit ball.

The Florida Southern product has enjoyed success against Florida throughout his career, going 7-2 with a 3.18 ERA in 14 appearances (10 starts).

Florida was hoping to salvage the finale of a four-game series with Cincinnati on Thursday, but the game was postponed due to inclement weather. No makeup date has been set for the NL East-leading Marlins, who are riding a three-game losing streak after ripping off seven straight wins.

In Wednesday's 7-6, 10-inning loss to the Reds at Great American Ballpark, Cody Ross hit a three-run homer and Matt Treanor went 2-for-3 with two RBI in defeat.

The Marlins' Ricky Nolasco threw 4 2/3 innings in his start, yielding two runs on five hits and three walks. Justin Miller gave up three runs -- two earned -- in two innings of relief, while Renyel Pinto allowed the winning run in the 10th to absorb the loss.

Andrew Miller was slated to pitch for the Marlins yesterday, but the rain pushed his start back to Friday. Miller is unbeaten over his last five starts (3-0) and 3-2 with a 6.52 ERA in eight outings this season. He last toed the rubber on Saturday at Washington, limiting the Nationals to a pair of hits through seven shutout innings of an 11-0 pounding.

The left-hander is 0-1 with an 18.69 ERA in three career games (1 start) against Kansas City.

Kansas City went 2-1 against the Marlins last season at Kauffman Stadium, while Florida won two of three games at Kansas City during the 2002 campaign.

The Royals are 86-107 all-time in interleague play, while the Marlins own an impressive 105-81 record in games played against the American League. The Royals were 10-8 in interleague play in 2007, compared to Florida's 9-9 mark versus the Junior Circuit a year ago.
