Hornets F West Leaves Game

Friday, May 16, 2008

(Sports Network) - New Orleans forward David West left Game 6 of the Hornets' Western Conference semifinal series against the San Antonio Spurs after re-injuring his back in the fourth quarter.

West, who suffered a pinched nerve in his back in Game 5, was blindsided by a Robert Horry pick early in the final stanza. West was guarding his man off the dribble and Horry executed the pick behind the forward as he jumped for an attempted block. Horry was called for a foul on the play.

West fell to the floor in pain and did not return. He will be evaluated on Friday.

The forward finished with 10 points on 4-of-14 shooting from the floor in the Hornets' 99-80 loss that forced a Game 7 at New Orleans on Monday.
