Spurs Sign G Mason

Friday, July 11, 2008

(Sports Network) - The San Antonio Spurs signed sharp- shooter Roger Mason on Friday. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-5 guard appeared in 80 games with the Washington Wizards last season, averaging a career-best 9.1 points while shooting 39.8 percent from beyond the three-point line and 87.3 percent from the charity stripe.

Originally drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the 31st pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, Mason has appeared in 185 career NBA games -- with Chicago, Toronto and Washington -- and has averaged 5.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
