Woman Wanted For Daytona Beach Bank Robbery Turns Self In

A woman wanted for a Daytona Beach bank robbery is in custody. Lucille Tate, 47, turned herself into authorities in West Virginia late Saturday night.

Daytona Beach police said, after Tate robbed a Wachovia Bank, she changed clothes and hailed a cab and then asked the driver to stop at Popeye's chicken.

U.S. Marshals and the FBI eventually discovered Tate was hiding almost 1,000 miles away.

"She had heard we were looking for her and that's why she had turned herself in to authorities in West Virginia," said Lt. Craig Buth, Daytona Beach Police Department.

Daytona Beach police said it would take a couple of weeks to extradite Tate to Florida.
