9-Foot, 500-Pound Shark Washes Ashore In Texas

Beachgoers in Corpus Christi, Texas were in for a big surprise this week when a large shark washed up on shore.

Biologists said they don't know why the nine-foot long Mako shark ended up on shore. They said the shark had died recently, but did not have any visible wounds.

The 500-pound shark was taken to a Texas A&M University lab for tests.
