PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- Some Volusia County children may have saved their sister's life, and their own. Rachel Malcolm, 16, was driving them all to school, when she passed out on I-95 in Scottsmoor because of a migraine headache."I started seeing double vision. That's when I was getting ready to pull over and that's all I remember," Rachel said. But her 7- and 8-year-old siblings got them safely off the road. Jessica, 8, climbed from the front passenger seat onto her sister's lap and started steering. But Rachel's limp legs were blocking the brakes, so 7-year-old John reached from the back seat to pull the emergency brake. They finally got the car stopped in a very lucky spot. Just a few feet to the left and they would have been in the middle of the exit ramp and a few feet to the right would have meant a head-on collision into trees. The whole family is just grateful the kids had the right reaction at 70 miles an hour.
