Posted: 11:51 pm EDT April 7, 2007Updated: 11:55 pm EDT April 7, 2007

A car crashed into a mobile home on Magnolia Avenue in Seminole County Saturday night. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, 21 year old Jeffery Mathis, and his passenger, 21 year old Joey Reed Jr., were both killed.

The owner of the mobile home was next door at a neighbor’s house when the car plowed into his house.

“Me and my friend we just see a red streak and then we heard a boom in the trailer and trees,” said Gary Conner.

Eyewitnesses said the car was traveling at more than 70 miles per hour, when it hit an oak tree and bounced into the mobile home.

Crews extricated Mathis and Reed from the car, but they were unable to save them. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating to see if alcohol played a role in the crash.
