Boy Recants Some Facts About Alleged Kidnapping Attempt

POSTED: 4:25 pm EDT April 17, 2007

There were new details, Tuesday, in what Orange County deputies thought was an armed kidnapping case.

A 13-year-old boy reported the kidnapping. He said a man in a red BMW approached him, pointed a gun at him and demanded he get in the car.

The accused kidnapper contacted Orange County deputies and passed a lie detector test.

The boy later admitted the suspect never actually talked to him and he could have mistaken the man's cell phone for a gun.
