ORLANDO, Fla. -- Fury and anger were what a father told an Orlando jury he was feeling minutes after his son told him a Broward County firefighter molested him. Police arrested Joseph Habib last July for allegedly touching children in the pool of the Renaissance Resort, near SeaWorld. The father of a 7-year-old boy, who was one of four children investigators said were fondled by Habib last summer, said he was so angry that he threatened Habib right then and there, threatened to kill him.The man didn't see his own son being molested, but testified he saw Habib molest three other children. The mother of a 7-year-old boy said she watched in disbelief as Habib molested her son. The boy told his mother and father that Habib had touched him under his bathing suit more than once. Wednesday, his father told the jury he had someone get Habib out of the pool."I said, 'You're a dead man.' I stuck my finger in his face and said, 'You're a dead man,'" the victim's father said in court. "I tried to contain myself. I got four firefighters and told them, 'Get around him or I'm gonna kill him. Just keep me off of him.'"
The Seminole County family was at an emergency medicine convention at the Renaissance Hotel near SeaWorld. Feeling quite safe and secure at the pool, with firefighters everywhere, never did they think that one of the firefighters would hurt a child. But, the Seminole County father said, he saw it happen to three more boys right after his son told him what Habib had done.Habib admitted to investigators that he had fondled the boys last July. He's been in custody ever since. The jury is going to hear about his confession, so Habib might figure he has to testify for damage control.
