VIDEO: Vigil Held For Victims Of Sanford Plane Crash
National Transportation Safety Board investigators will return to the crash site Thursday morning and continue their work at the wreckage. But even if they find the cause, it still won't bring back the people who died in the tragedy.Wednesday night, neighbors came together to help each other through the pain. Some were family members and some long-time friends. Others never knew the victims. Still, they came together in a candlelight vigil to remember those who died."It really hits home when it's in your back yard," said neighbor Robert Ortega. With plane parts scattered about the Preserve at Lake Monroe neighborhood, people realize a matter of feet separated their homes from the same fate."We have been thanking God since yesterday morning. When it's your time, there's no way to prevent something like that from happening," Ortega said.Family members of Joe Woodard were there, as well. He lost both his wife, Janice, and son, Josiah.Across town, members of the DeChat family held a private service. People filed in, not only in remembrance of 4-year-old Gabriella, but also to pray for her parents and brother, who were all badly burned.Thursday morning, members of the Woodard family will be holding a press conference to discuss funeral arrangements for both Janice and Josiah Woodard. Also Thursday evening, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office will hold a meeting for neighbors to meet with crisis counselors.Florida A&M's law school will hold a vigil for Janice Thursday night, since she was a student there.
