ORLANDO, Fla. -- Three people were run down by a car during an auto auction in Orange County. It happened at the Manheim Auto Auction off West Colonial Drive on Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses said a worker driving a Porsche Cayenne lost control and went into the crowd. Four people went to the hospital. That includes the driver. One person was left in serious condition.

A car dealer told Eyewitness News that the car auctions are borderline negligent and not just in Orange County, but all of them.

The drive of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo plowed into three customers Tuesday at Florida's Auto Auction.

"You could tell she was devastated. What I hear, she worked here a long time and never had problems," said eyewitness Matt Love.

Eyewitnesses said the woman was driving too fast in one of 18 lanes that feed into the auction blocks. They said it looked like she swerved to avoid hitting the car in front of her and hit the three men there to bid, possibly having panicked and accelerated instead of breaking.

"One guys went up on the hood of the car," said eyewitness Matthew Uride.

That person was in serious condition. The driver and other two men were also taken to the hospital.

Manheim Auto Auction, the owner of the business, is not releasing any information other than they are conducting their own internal investigation.

One local dealer said several people get hit in similar accidents each year and, with nearly 400 temporary workers, hundreds of cars going through and buyers standing everywhere, he called it borderline negligence.

Florida Auto Auction is not releasing the names of the driver, though they said she is a temporary employee, or the three men that got hurt. The company that owns Mannheim's Florida Auto Auction, Cox Enterprises, also owns Channel 9.
