Residents Upset Over Raw Sewage Leak At Titusville Apartment Complex

Tuesday, September 4, 2007 – updated: 7:36 am EDT September 4, 2007

Bubbling liquid is running into the streets and a foul smell is in the air.

People living in a Titusville neighborhood said it started to stink after raw sewage flowed out of the ground around the Renaissance Village apartments. The property managers plan to send someone to look at the problem Tuesday.

Residents said they are extremely concerned because kids were running through the sewage and the smell is overpowering.

"It smells like a port-o-potty in August. That's the best way I can describe it. It's horrendous," said Mary Beileine, an upset resident.

After Eyewitness News called, the city sent a crew to unclog a drain and clean-up the mess on the street. Residents said they were still concerned about areas where they believe sewage is still leaking on the apartment property.
