PALM BAY, Fla. -- Four people were in jail Thursday accused of a drive by shooting on Thor Street in Palm Bay and then returning to the scene of the crime to start shooting again.Fortunately no one was hurt during the attack. The amazing thing is that police said the suspects came back while crime scene investigators were taking measurements at the scene, firing one more round in their direction.Dispatcher: "911. What's your emergency?" Caller: "I need a unit at my house. I think someone just shot through my window."A relatively subdued sounding woman called police after a bullet broke through a bedroom window, tore through clothes in the room and then punctured a closet door. Police said the woman and her child were sleeping at the time.Caller: "There's a hole in my daughter's window, and there's lines in the wall like it was a bullet or a b-b that came through here."Police arrived at the Rosemont apartments a short while later. Crime scene investigators were scouring the area and taking measurements to determine the direction the bullet traveled. They thought they were safe until they heard gunfire erupt again."Our crime scene investigator was actually outside and had to duck for cover behind his vehicle to avoid being hit," said Yvonne Martinez of the Palm Bay Police Department.More police rushed to the area and found the car a short distance away. The gun was found by a police K-9 unit. Inside the car were Darnell Watson, Sharon Gaston, Samuel Hogan and Steven Robinson. All four were arrested.Police believe Hogan was the actual shooter and all four knew police personnel were at the scene of the shooting when they drove back two fire the second round of shots."They knew that the police were there. In fact, in conversations between the suspects themselves, one of the individual said to the suspect, 'why did you shoot knowing the police were there,'" said Martinez.Police don't believe the incident was a random attack. They believe Hogan was upset for some reason with people in the apartment. What they don't understand is why they ever returned to the scene. All four face felony charges and were being held on $10,000 bond. They will face a judge Friday.
