Orange County Commissioner Wants Support On Red Light Cameras

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

A new billboard in Orange County is urging people to support red light cameras.

The billboard features Orange County commissioner Linda Stewart. She is the chairperson of a group that is backing a new red light bill that will be filed in Tallahassee next month. The legislation would allow the cameras on state and county roads.

Some drivers said the sign is making them think twice about running red lights.

"You see her picture and then you look at the red letters. It will make me think about stopping," said one driver.

The billboards usually cost about $6,000, but Clear Channel donated the ad space and paid to create and design them.
