Army Corp Of Engineers Finds Live Bomb Near Middle School

Tuesday, October 2, 2007 – updated: 9:06 am EDT October 3, 2007

The Army Corps of Engineers found a live bomb near the Odyssey Middle School campus Tuesday in an area concerned about bombs since it was built next to a WWII bombing range.

A device was found there several weeks ago, prompting an all-out effort to make sure there aren't more explosives.

The device was described as a "bomb fuse" and it's on the undeveloped property adjacent to the school, so the Army Corps of Engineers said no one is in danger.

The Army Corp will detonate the device Wednesday.
