Meth Lab Discovered In Lake County Motel Room

Posted: 10:05 am EDT October 27, 2007Updated: 11:00 am EDT October 27, 2007

Acting on a tip about a wanted drug suspect, Lake County Sheriff's deputies came upon a suspected methamphetamine lab Friday night inside a motel room just south of Leesburg.

Authorities had an active arrest warrant for 33 year old Bobbie Jo Pettis and learned that she was staying at Angelina's Lakeside Motel on U.S. 27.

When deputies arrived at the motel around 10pm, they said they found Pettis in one of the rooms along with items that are used to manufacture methaamphetamine.

They summoned detectives from the Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit, who confirmed that there was a meth lab in the room.

After obtaining a search warrant, the room was searched and the meth lab dismantled.

Deputies believe Pettis was connected to other people involved with the lab and that there will be other arrests.

Pettis was booked into the Lake County jail.
