CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Some striking space workers will return to work this week after approving a new 3-year contract with the United Space Alliance.Sunday in Cape Canaveral, the NASA workers voted to end a five-month strike. The new agreement makes changes to worker's pension plans and even back-dates pensions for senior workers. Some believe this new agreement is because some union members took the issue to the capital."We had a lot of support from our democrats and we certainly feel that had a lot to do with getting this company back to the table," said Bob Wood, the union spokesman.Union members who have jobs ranging from electricians to painters and crane operators said they will return to work on Thursday.
