Bear Spotted In Another Part Of Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Javier Ellington swears the faint paw prints by his dumpster came from a black bear he saw the night before Thanksgiving.

"He was like right up here, climbing up on here. He reached in and pulled out a garbage bag and dropped it down here and ripped it open," said Ellington.Ellington said the bear left a trail of trash at an apartment complex on Mercy Drive. Neighbors did not believe Ellington, until they started seeing the bear, too."He's a good sized bear, too," said Aaron Bell, who also saw the bear.Now people come out every night and try to get a peek at the bear.Last Tuesday, Eyewitness News captured a picture of a bear in College Park, which is four miles from Mercy Drive.Fish and Wildlife Officers worried the College Park bear would wander onto Interstate Four, so they set a trap. The sightings stopped soon after, but the bear was never trapped. Officials removed the trap on Monday.Officers said they don't know if the bear on Mercy Drive is the same one that was spotted in College Park. However, the bear is about five miles from suitable habitat, so officials will not set a trap just yet. They are urging residents to keep their trash locked up to keep the bear moving.
