Red Tide Blamed For 15 Turtle Deaths In December

MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. -- Fifteen sea turtles have died this month alone due to the influx of red tide in Brevard County.The latest dead turtle washed ashore Monday in Melbourne Beach.The concentration of algae is not only to blame for the deaths of sea animals, but is known to cause respiratory problems, eye irritation and dizziness in humans.
