Disney's Animal Kingdom Re-Opens Ride After Navarre Man Dies

Wednesday, December 19, 2007 – updated: 2:48 pm EST December 19, 2007

Tuesday night, Disney officials said that a ride a tourist was on moments before his death will be open Wednesday morning.

Jeffery Reeb, 44, of Navarre died Tuesday after riding the Expedition Everest roller coaster at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Deputies said less than a minute before the ride was over, Reeb's picture was taken and he was conscious.

Emergency crews rushed Reeb to Celebration Hospital, where he died. Disney officials closed the ride for several hours to investigate, but found no problems.

The Orange County Medical Examiner determined that Reeb died of natural causes relating to a pre-existing medical (cardiac) issue. Investigators do not suspect foul play or any issue with the ride in the death of the victim.
