Thief Tells Fast Food Employees To Count To 5,000

Posted: 12:38 pm EST January 4, 2008

A man in Daytona Beach held two employees at gunpoint while he robbed a fast food restaurant Thursday night.

An employee taking out the trash at Checkers on Bevel Road was surprised by the man with a gun hiding by the dumpster.

The man forced the employee back inside, ordered him and a co-worker to open two cash drawers and a restaurant safe.

Police said the thief got about $500 in cash and then told the employees to lie on the ground count to 5,000 while ran away.
