SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- After a call from Channel 9 Sunday night, Florida Fish and Wildlife officials began trying to help a Seminole County homeowner remove some bears.Wekiva Springs resident Doug Kettles says that he and his neighbors are used to bears being around their Sweetwater Cove subdivision because it is so close to the state park. But this time, the big animals are a little close for comfort."At first we were like, 'Ok, they will go away' but they haven't. In fact they have multiplied. First there were two, and now there are three," Kettle told Channel 9. He says when he first called Fish and Wildlife officials they told him that the bears would go away on their own, but Kettle and his neighbors are losing patience."We worry about everybody and their [pets]," homeowner Dee Dee Adams said, "I believe it's a nuisance, it's become a hazard."The bears have been climbing around in the trees around the subdivision, but neighbors say they get into the garbage at night and can make a mess. After Channel 9 got involved, Seminole County Sheriff's Office sent a deputy out to the scene to help with safety issues. If the bears are still around Monday morning, Florida Fish and Wildlife agents plan to set a trap.
