Disney Scientists Running Breeding Program For Threatened Rat Species

Walt Disney World is the home to a couple of famous mice, but now it will take some rats in.

Disney scientists are running a breeding program for the Key Largo Wood Rat. The rodent has been threatened by pythons, stray cats and waterfront development.

Experts say only about 200 of the rats remain in the wild.

The rats can be seen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.
