Officials Remove One Of Two Alligators Spotted In Orange County Pond

Posted: 12:40 pm EST February 18, 2008Updated: 12:54 pm EST February 18, 2008

A pair of alligators spotted in one east Orange County neighborhood is making some residents very uncomfortable. By Monday afternoon, one of the gators was removed.

Some residents of Tivoli Villages told Eyewitness News one alligator was seen sunbathing, while another was seen swimming in a pond near Lee Vista Road on Sunday.

Parents said they are concerned because their children play in the area.

"And then one day I saw it, huge alligator, about 10 feet long," said resident Darryl Burrell.

Fish and Wildlife officers said they removed one of the gators Monday morning and they were working to remove the other one. They said it should be done by the end of the day.
