POLK COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies in Polk County say they rescued a man who found him scratched up, naked and wading toward an alligator in a pond. Deputies say they talked 47-year-old Adrian Apgar out of the water about midnight Thursday and took him to a hospital, where he will remain hospitalized for three days for mental health treatment under the state's Baker Act. Officials plans to file two misdemeanor charges of trespassing and exposure. Apgar's last run-in with an alligator left him with severe injuries, from which he is still recovering. In November 2006, four deputies ripped Apgar from the jaws of an alligator. His left arm had to be amputated above the elbow, and he almost lost his right arm.
