Kissimmee police arrested four suspected drug dealers working out of three houses on the same street. It happened before dawn Friday in the MacLaren Circle neighborhood, an area troubled by drug activity.

Police were tipped off that the suspects might be watching through surveillance cameras on the property, so power was briefly cut to the street. Then, just before 6:00am, the roar of flashbangs shattered the morning calm. Kissimmee drug officers and county SWAT team members burst into three houses on Brack Street.

One by one, three suspects, all with extensive criminal records, were led out of one rental property. Earlier, undercover officers made drug buys from the location to confirm what neighbors had complained about.

"I'm not doing nothin'," one suspect said as he was taken into custody.

Next door, officers found a box containing crack cocaine and cash that was hidden under an 11-year-old's bed. The adult suspect at the address was not home. The boy's father, who wasn't arrested, appeared more embarrassed than surprised.

"It's all over here, you see it, you don't see it. It's as simple as that," said resident Sam Howard.

The success of the operation, dubbed "Good Friday," was based on a coordinated entry of the three target houses. That prevented any of the suspects from contacting one another.

Police also learned the dealers had surveillance cameras and motion sensing lights. Officers worked with the local utility authority to briefly cut power to the street before launching the raid.

"This is one of the more sophisticated groups we've taken off in awhile. They worked together. They worked in concert. If one didn't have drugs, they'd send you to the other," explained Capt. Warren Shepard, Kissimmee Police Department.

Along with 570 grams cocaine, police recovered 120 grams of ecstasy and 40 grams of marijuana. They also recovered two loaded rifles, a loaded handgun, $8,000 in cash and ski masks. Ten dogs were also removed from the home on Brack Street by Osceola County Animal Control.

Friday afternoon, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office released the names and details of the charges each of the four arrested suspects is facing.

Davion Smiley, 25, is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell and deliver, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of cannabis over 20 grams, possession of MDMA and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Willie Wells, 25, is charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in MDMA (ecstasy) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Taurean Wilkerson, 25, is charged with possession of MDMA with intent to sell, possession of cannabis under 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. There were also warrants out for him on charges of sale and delivery of cocaine, sale and delivery of drug paraphernalia, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, driving with license suspended with knowledge and resisting without violence.

Cortez Edwards, 35, is charged with armed trafficking of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies are still seeking James Jones, 24, for sale and delivery of cocaine.
