Woman Says E-Pass Transponder Landed Her In Jail

OVIEDO, Fla. -- An Oviedo woman says her E-Pass transponder landed her behind bars. Jannie Columbia spent 10 hours at a Seminole County jail last week for failing to appear in court.Columbia says she didn't even know she was supposed to be there. Columbia said when she received a letter warning her E-Pass battery was getting low, she had it fixed, but later found out her license had been suspended."I thought it was taken care of without knowing or thinking that anything else would come of it because I had paid for it," Columbia said.An Expressway Authority spokesperson said she believed there must be other circumstances involved in the case and offered to review the case Monday morning.
