Home Video Shows Explosive, Chaotic Scene At WrestleMania

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Eyewitness News obtained home video of a major fireworks accident during Sunday night's WrestleMania event at the Citrus Bowl. Forty-five people were injured in the accident.

Less than 24 hours after the accident, wrestling officials are planning to use fireworks again Monday night at Amway Arena. The Fire Marshal will be there inspecting all of the pyrotechnics for Monday Night Raw just as they did for Sunday night's show. While some fans are nervous, there was still a big crowd for the show late Monday afternoon.Sunday night was supposed to be WrestleMania's grand finale, but home video captured, as fireworks began to blast, chaos erupted in the stands. The video, at one point, shows a ball of fire and sparks flying.The Orlando Fire Department said a cable carrying fireworks malfunctioned, dropping onto the crowd and leaving 45 fans with minor burns. Assistant Fire Chief Greg Hoggatt said the city will leave the investigation to WWE and its contractor, Zenith Pyrotechnics."We have no reason to investigate it. They will be doing this show over, over and over," Hoggatt said.Apologizing for the accident, WWE released a statement: "We're doing everything we can to find out why it happened and to make sure it never happens again."Fire department said it reviewed its actions and said proper procedures were followed. WWE did release their fireworks plan to city ahead of time and it was reviewed and inspected.
