ORLANDO, Fla. -- Members of an Orlando homeowners' association are worried about their monthly payments after their former general manager admitted to taking thousands of dollars in association funds without board approval.

Tom Bradley resigned from the Ventura Country Club community's HOA in February. He publicly confessed to writing checks to himself. An audit showed at least $40,000 was missing from accounts.

Residents are now concerned their $100 monthly fees might rise.

"It's such a nice neighborhood. There's no reason for it. When you get that hungry for money, it's a dirty shame you gotta do that to other people you deal with," said Francis Quaintance, a Ventura resident.

Bradley could not be reached for comment. An auditor will make sure the HOA's bills for lawn maintenance and other costs are paid. Results of a final audit should be ready in about ten days.
