Surveillance video from last April recorded Officer Fernando Trinidad pushing Jessica Asprilla down the stairs at what was then downtown Orlando's Club Paris.

Monday, Chief Demings announced Officer Trinidad made a serious mistake and an 8-hour suspension for misconduct was not a severe enough punishment for his actions.

Demings said her department is also investigating its policy that allows young officers to work off-duty.

Last week, victim Jessica Asprilla filed a formal complaint against Trinidad demanding criminal charges and that he be fired.
