Woman Takes Stand To Defend Self In Disney Fight Trial

Thursday, April 10, 2008 – updated: 1:08 pm EDT April 10, 2008

The woman accused of beating another woman at Disney's Magic Kingdom took the stand in her own defense Thursday morning. Victoria Walker said she was just defending herself when she fought with Aimee Krause at the Mad Tea Party ride last year.

Walker, 51, insists that the alleged victim in the case, Krause, was the person who actually started all the trouble. Walker spent nearly 90 minutes on the stand Thursday morning telling her side of the story.

Walker said she encountered Krause and her children in the line at the Mad Tea Party ride and said the two of them had words after Krause's kids cut to the front. But when the women were loading children into ride, Walker said Krause elbowed her then got even more physical.

"I was getting in a tea cup," Walker testified Thursday morning. "And I felt a kick on my right leg and it was Miss Krause. I grabbed her hair like this and I kicked her back."

Walker said the encounter lasted just a few seconds because one of her friends quickly jumped in and separated the two women. She insists she did not punch or choke Krause.

Closing arguments were expected Thursday afternoon and then the jury will get the case. Walker could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
