Man Missing Front Tooth May Be Connected To 6 Bank Robberies

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 – updated: 6:21 pm EDT May 6, 2008

Detectives have linked a half-dozen bank robberies to the same suspect. Investigators released new surveillance video late Tuesday afternoon.

Detectives say the video released shows the suspect in action. They are running out of leads and hope a clearer picture of him will help them track him down. Eyewitness News received the new surveillance video Tuesday after being released by the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Last Thursday, a man wearing a ball cap walked into the Wachovia Bank on Narcoossee Road. Detectives said he got into line and pretended to be a customer. He walked up to the teller and started talking to her.

After a period of time, detectives said, he implied he had a weapon and threatened her if she didn't hand over the cash. She then handed over the money and he took off.

Robbery Detective Jose Ramirez said the suspect could be linked to five other robberies, including ones in Volusia County, Kissimmee, St. Cloud, West Melbourne and Leesburg.

"Basically the same mo. He looks for the weakest link, then approaches the teller, threatens her or something to that effect," Ramirez said.

Detectives said the suspect has one noticeable feature, a missing front tooth.
