City To Pay Topless Protestor $15,000 To Settle Damages Suit

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The city of Daytona Beach will pay a topless protestor $15,000 to settle her claims against the city. The city commission made the decision at their meeting Wednesday night.Elizabeth Book was arrested last March when she took off her shirt to protest the city's nudity ordinance. Her charges were dropped, because a court said topless protesting is legal.Book sued Daytona Beach for damages due to the arrests.
