11-Year-Old Arrested After Deputies Find Marijuana, Handgun

LONGWOOD, Fla. -- Eyewitness News learned Monday that a student brought a gun to his elementary school Friday in Longwood.

Jarrett Snipes, 11, was sent to the principal's office at Woodlands Elementary School (see map) on Friday after another student reported to a teacher that Snipes had brought "weed" to class.A sheriff's deputy who responded then found Snipes also had an unloaded handgun in his book bag, along with a tool that could be used as a dagger.Snipes was arrested, but parents weren't notified of the incident when it happened last Friday.
