Burn Ban In Effect For Flagler County For Next Seven Days

Posted: 5:53 am EDT May 13, 2008

Tuesday morning, a burn ban was in effect in Flagler County in hopes of preventing wildfires there.

The ban outlaws campfires and all outdoor burning for at least the next seven days. Residents can still use outdoor barbecue grills.

Drivers are asked not to park their vehicles in grassy areas, to avoid a hot muffler sparking a fire. Violators face a $500 fine or 60 days in jail.
