Ponce Inlet Fire Marshal Issues Burn Ban

PONCE INLET, Fla. -- Effective immediately, the Town of Ponce Inlet has issued an outdoor burn ban for all residents and visitors within the town limits. Due to extreme wild fire danger, the ban is in effect until further notice.Under the burn ban, all outdoor burning is prohibited. That includes outdoor recreational campfires, open outdoor cooking fires, trash fires, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, chimneys, kilns and ovens.Outdoor cooking being used with an approved contained charcoal grill using approved cooking materials or gas grills are the only exceptions.Please also exercise extreme caution when parking vehicles on dry grass, extinguish all smoking materials carefully, and maintain 30 feet of defensible space around your dwelling. The Ponce Inlet Fire Department has several informational brochures on reducing the wild fire danger around your residence.
